YouTube Premium: Is It Really That Good? An Honest Review
An honest review of YouTube Premium after 2 years of daily use.
⭐ Quick Summary
• Ad-free viewing fundamentally changes how you engage with content • Background playback improves smartphone use across the board • YouTube Music is surprisingly capable as a music app replacement
Ad-Free YouTube Is a Completely Different Experience
Before Premium, I thought ads were just a minor annoyance. After going ad-free, my ability to focus on content changed completely. Once you experience it, going back to the free version feels impossible.
YouTube Music Is a Genuine Bonus
I didn't use YouTube Music much at first, but the library — which includes official music videos and live performances not available on other platforms — is surprisingly deep. Being able to save live concert footage as music tracks is a unique advantage. If ~$14 a month feels steep, the Family plan split or the Student rate are well worth checking out.
